Everyone was participating, even the minister of industry went to some natural pool! The campaign lasted for couple of months and a lot of people visiting Iceland in these winter months got some invitations and help. Even small help like getting over rivers that were too deep and so forth. Other interesting travel arrangement are around the northern lights in Iceland. Most people wonder “Where can you see the northern lights” and of course that is in Iceland.

Here is the Icelandic song for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest this year. The singers are a well known pop figures in Iceland. The video is shot in the Icelandic nature and is lovely. It touches up on the elves tradition in Iceland. The name of the song is “Mundu eftir mér” – english: You remember me. What people like with this song is the violin, the singers have a special voices and make this one great fit and the combination of the musical instruments gives us a very strong feeling. If you are coming to Iceland before this all is happening dont forget to use car rental Iceland 4×4 services to get around as it is rough over here.

In this trip they are exposing Icelandic traditional tourist places and enjoying their life 110%. It is a lovely combination of natural places like mountains, lava, glaciers and lagoons -and then the everyday life in Reykjavik with nightlife cafes and shopping. We highly recommend you stay at Reykjavik residence hotel in central Reykjavik. When you come to Iceland you better be ready to see all the contrast in the life and also in the weather – in the same day it can be ice cold, sunny, wind and snowing. So take with you all your best clothes, being it for stormy weather or sunshine. It is a great idea especially if you plan to use some of our northern lights forecast services.

Eric Clapton loves the Icelandic culture. He is actually so inspired he came to Iceland and played some music for the Icelandic fans. He is now in the group of so called “Icelandic friends”. He is actually also coming to his Icelandic workshop and works out his music a lot here in Iceland. He is not only becoming a fan himself of Iceland but also his partners. He loves the nature and the people – how hard working they are and sincere. That is at least what he says. Eric Clapton is viewed by critics as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time – nothing less! This video was shot as part of the Inspired by Iceland campaign that was done soon after Eyjafjallajökull erupted in Iceland and stopped all flights in Europe for quite a long time. If you want to enjoy some of this nature you should take car rental Iceland Keflavik

A great video on the Reykjavik music scene – showing us that Reykjavik is not only Sigur Ros and Bjork. Great shots from pubs, clubs and similar. You see the real people in the well known nightlife of Iceland. Bands are playing all over the place and you can see interview with some real people in central Reykjavik. Not only some famous singers but also just normal people that are loving music. Prior to going for the music scene you should check out what else to do in Reykjavik Iceland e.g. you could go to a whale watching Iceland March tour.

Great video from Iceland. So natural and beautifully shot by Daniel. It is amazing how these people in Iceland live and how they seem to enjoy life – and in harmony with nature and all the power over there. Believing in alfs seem to be normal for them – even if it is impossible to capture these creators on camera or other documentation. I could just as well believe in whales or not! I also recommend people to go for a whale watching tour and ask questions such as: Where are the northern lights.

Frank Hvams from the infamous TV series Klovn. A tv sitcom made in Denmark. He just loves Iceland and is really inspired by the nation. I have watch the Klovn series for long time in Icelandic TV and it is just hilarious. One of my faovrite shows and somehow Frank Hvams just delivers the role perfectly. It is somehow so realistic and natural how much of a Klovn he is and how he interact with other actors in the sitcom. Im looking forward for me to come from Frank Hvam and hope he will travel a lot to Iceland. He could use the search engine that helps people find e.g. cheap flights to Iceland from Toronto

In this video Retro Stefson is playing music in the lovely Fljotshlid that is close to the area of Eyjafjallajokull. They are a young band but already well known in Iceland for great music. In this video they are playing on top of a old bridge. It is a great scenery in the nature in Iceland. Something different and fresh to watch. I would love to see them playing live in such a surrounding – and maybe having the northern lights playing in the heaven. That would be so great.
This video is part of a larger promotion campaign done by the Islandsstofa and shows Rene Redzepi that is a chef and co-owner of Noma – the two-Michelin star restaurant in Denmark. It was one of the best restaurants in the world as reviewed by San Pellegriono Awards. He is known for making great food of course but also for being very innovative on the Nordic cuisine and promoting northern lights holidays. The promotional campaign was done because of the large potential drop of visitors to Iceland after the world famous Eyjafjallajökull erupted in 2009.
How to knit like an Icelandic man is a funny video. In Iceland this is very manly! That is at least what the girls are saying so it must be true. However his name isnt so easy to say – Þórgnýr Thoroddsen – but as he is so great at knitting he makes up for the difficult name. When you see him on the street in Iceland just say Hello are you the knitting man from Iceland – and he will be very happy. Hope you have found your northern lights forecast information while he has been knitting – because that is really what you should see while visiting Iceland.
